August Happenings!

THE GENERAL ELECTION IS ON and PCDWA is here for you!

If you’re watching the news like we are, it’s easy to get a sense of whiplash and despair.  First, we despaired Biden’s debate performance.  Then Trump was “saved by God” from an assassination.  Then, Biden passed the torch to Harris!  Democrats swarmed to unite behind her!!  What’s next?  We know MAGA is going to muddy the waters somehow!

PCDWA is going to keep you focused on the issues that matter:

  • Understanding Project 2025

  • Reproductive Rights

  • Fully Funding Public Schools

  • Continued Economic Prosperity

  • Global Leadership

  • Court Reform

How are we going to do this?

  1. Our monthly meetings, as in the past, will highlight an important issue, and introduce one of our great candidates.  We’ll also present opportunities for members to get more involved.

  2. Our Facebook page will feature important issues and knowledgeable voices speaking on these issues so that you can be an informed ambassador in neighbor-to-neighbor conversations.  And Action Alerts to highlight cool volunteer opportunities!

  3. Our website will be updated with issues pages, links to further reading, a calendar of upcoming event, and an archive of our Facebook posts.

The Park Cities are already Purple!?!

25% of Park Cities voters are already Democrats!

46% of Park Cities voters in the Republican primary did NOT vote for Donald Trump!

This means that almost half of Park Cities Republicans are persuadable!

** Neighbor-to-neighbor conversations are the most effective tool to bring information to voters! **

We need you to block walk Park Cities neighborhoods, talk to your undecided neighbors, sponsor and attend neighborhood events!

August Meeting

August 28, 5:30 - 7:00

Always worth saying:  Men are welcome!  Bring your like-minded friends, and especially your Democrat-curious Republican friends!!  Let’s show them we don’t bite!

Candidate of the Month: Sam Eppler

For those who haven’t met Sam, he’s a Gen Z former HS Principal who’s passionate about a return to common sense government.  (For context, the blonde with the AR-15 below is our current Republican representative in the 24th district - Beth Van Duyne.)  Sam will be a great representative for our district, full of energy and common-sense ideas.

Come see for yourself at the August meeting!

Issue of the Month

Project 2025

We’re hearing more about Project 2025, but what is it? It must be really bad since Donald Trump is trying to pretend he cancelled it (lolol). Is it really as scary as they’re making it seem? Unfortunately, the short answer is “yes”, and it underlies everything in his platform.  For the long answer (and a way to talk to your neighbors about it), join us!  Yes, there will be wine to dull the pain.  Look here for more information on Project 2025.

Want to do more??

The question we get most often is:  what can I do?  I need to do something!!

Saturday, September 7

10:00 - 12:00 and 2:00 - 4:00pm

This is a coordinated informational campaign with the Allred, Eppler and Ginsberg campaigns.

You will be talking to your own neighbors! (Democrats only)

We need block walkers, as well as lit baggers (September 5, 2:00 - 4:00)

We will meet by precinct, locations TBA

Register at info@PCDWA.org and let us know your precinct (or address) and availability!

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

And there’s more!

Donate to a creative new initiative to turn out the vote in high Dem, low voting neighborhoods. Over 350,000 Democrats in Dallas County don’t vote!!

  • Traditional GOTV approaches for these neighborhoods have not worked

  • Digital billboards will run ads like those below in key locations to raise awareness of 2024 issues and the importance of voting

  • You can help by donating to fund the media buy at dallasdemocrats.org/billboard/

Talk to your Democrat-curious neighbors:

  • Neighbor-to-neighbor conversations are the most effective means of conveying political information

  • Your neighbors - especially women - are searching for alternatives to Trump and MAGA (you probably know who they are!)

  • Follow our Facebook page for talking points and invite these friends to PCDWA events!
