Outside Event: The Art of Resiliance: Latinx Public Witness in Troubled Times

  • Prothero Hall, Southern Methodist University Dallas, TX (map)

September 20-21, 2019

Free and open to the public | Spanish translation available*

Featuring Latina feminist Daisy Machado, political sociologist Eduardo Bonilla-Silva and biblical scholar Fernando Segovia

The Center for the Study of Latino/a Christianity and Religions of Perkins School of Theology/SMU will host a free, two-day event that will gather Latinx scholars, artists, religious leaders and community activists to explore how academic research, religious practices, the arts, and public engagement address the current social climate of Latino/a-phobia, gendered and race-based public policy. Come and dialogue that, together, we might find solidarity in our work for a future marked by Divine compassion.

*Translation into Spanish will be available for all parts of the event except for "Elvira: The Immigration Play."
