It’s 2022! Or, as a friend called it, Season 3 of 2020. And this time Texas Republicans jumped the shark. To wit, and in case you haven’t heard, the Park Cities are now in new legislative districts! If you want to check these out in more detail, the Texas Tribune has this handy tool.
We are now in Texas 24 for US Congress - a crazy district that goes far, far west. This means instead of re-electing Colin Allred once again, we get to unseat Beth Van Duyne. (If you’re not familiar with Beth Van Duyne, there was a profile of her at the Atlantic in April.)
We are still in HD 108 for the Texas State House, but the district now has really different boundaries.
And here’s our State Senate district - SD 12.
Confused? We’re here to help. First up, make sure you’re registered to vote by January 31. If you need help registering, write info@pcdwa.org and we’ll send a voter registrar to you.
Also, our good friends at WDUA are co-sponsoring an event on February 6, at 2:00 PM where you can meet the Democratic candidates for TX-24 and HD-108, if you missed the events we had in fall.
