Outside Event: Why do people living in rural America not even know Democrats exist?

Why do people living in rural America not even know we exist? Or, worst yet, why do they dislike us? For example, in the 2020 Presidential election, rural Texans cast 2.6M votes. Joe Biden only received 19% or 500,000 of those votes. While he lost rural Texas by 1.6M votes, he lost the state by only 700,000. As Democrats, it is imperative that we learn how to listen to, speak to and motivate rural voters to vote for Democratic candidates.
This problem is not just a Texas problem, it is nationwide!
Two PACs have been formed in the last month, to address this issue. On a national basis, Tedra Cobb and Mauranda Simmons have formed the Backroads PAC (backroadspac.com) . As you may recall, Tedra ran in NY 21 a rural upstate district against Elise Stefanik. It was Tedra's second run for Congress and she raised almost $7M. Unfortunately, Stefanik became a darling of the extreme right after her defense of President Trump in the House Judiciary Committee and raised $12M.
In Texas, Kendall Scudder and Liillian Salerno of the podblesstexas.com podcast, have similarly identified this problem and have formed the Represent Texas PAC (representtexaspac.org).
I'm happy to announce that all four principles have agreed to have a conversation on what we must do to make substantial inroads in rural areas in Texas and throughout the country. Please join us on February 10th at 6:00PM Central Time for a conversation with Tedra, Mauranda, Lillian and Kendall.
