We had a great conversation today with candidates for HD108 Tom Ervin and Shawn Terry at the PCDWA October First Friday! Now we’re getting ready for a busy two weeks ahead. First up, is our Neighborhood Meeting with Colin Allred, co-hosted with Flip Texas Blue. Saturday, October 12, at 12:00 Noon, at the University Park Library. Sign up for tickets at Eventbrite — and sign up even if you’re on the waitlist! Also, send questions to info@pcdwa.org. It will go fast and we want to address as many issues as possible.

AND THEN! We will host the first ever PCDWA Happy Hour! Thursday, October 17 at 6:00. Bring a friend, bring a date, drag your significant other with you. Explain to some one you know that flipping HD108 could flip the Texas House, then bring that person along! Once we win, the rain may never fall till after sundown, by eight the morning fog must disappear In short there's simply not a more congenial spot… Well, maybe not. But winning the Texas House is a real possibility, and HD108 is Ground Zero. So come to the Happy Hour, bring a friend who doesn’t know off hand what “HD108” means, and meet HD108 Candidates Ervin and Terry. Bring a bottle of something and sample what your neighbors like. As always, to get the address, sign up on the website and watch your emails.

And finally!

Here are some activism alerts! One of the reasons control of the State House is so important is because 2020 is a redistricting year, and that’s a BIG DEAL. The House Redistricting Commission is holding a public meeting at the Dallas City Hall on October 10. Public comment is crucial. If you can’t go in person, you can email in your comment. Information from the League of Women Voters is available here. As always, check out the calendar of events on our website!
