When we googled “Happy Blue Year” looking for images for this newsletter, we were surprised to find that it’s actually a thing. Sadly, it refers to a decorating/design color scheme - not exactly what we had in mind.
We found more of what we were looking for by reading through the obligatory year-in-review columns. While some of our favorite authors focused more on the failures of 2025 (see Jeff Tiedrich for the epic media fails of the year), others looked optimistically forward. Dean Obeidallah focuses on the successes ‘We the People’ had in 2025 (think the No Kings rallies and the Disney boycott) and the opportunities we have to continue that work into the midterms next year.
Christopher Armitage has some specific strategies in mind for the coming year. At the blue state leadership level, he has a strategy for “Soft Succession” to dismantle MAGA policies with multi-state obstruction. Specifically for us at the red state, grass roots level, he has an “Occupy Republican Minds” strategy where we flood the offices of MAGA electeds with angry constituent calls, emails and protests to gum up the works and impede their ability to move their agenda forward.
The theme of these thoughts is a common one: no one is going to save us but ourselves, and we’ve shown we can do it. (Like every election in recent memory) the 2026 midterms are going to be the most important of our lifetimes. Our focus for the year will be on maximizing the opportunities presented to us by:
joining forces with other Dallas County clubs and area precinct chairs to present opportunities to you to meet our terrific Democratic primary candidates, local and statewide! (See below for three great opportunities coming up!)
working hard with our precinct chairs to support these Democratic candidates and lift Democratic voter turnout (we’re going to supplant traditional outreach methods like block walking with newer, more promising methods like “relational organizing” - come to our January meeting (see below) to learn more about this!)
continuing the grass roots pressures by participating in Nationwide protests (there’s an upcoming event on January 20! See below for more information.)
supporting the Armitage-recommended “guerilla warfare” methods against our federal and state republican leaders. (Stay tuned for more specific information from our Action Committee.)
We’re creating a Quick Action Team which will get first notice of all of these opportunities next year! Want to be part of the change? Sign up here!
Keep reading to see what else is coming up - together we can make 2026 a Happy Blue Year!

PCA Dems January Meeting
Thursday, January 15
5:00 - 7:00
One of our New Year’s resolutions is to get better organized. If we want to turn the Park Cities area into a bluer shade of purple, we’re going to need to pull out all the organizational stops. Relational Organizing is the latest trend among the political insiders: what is it? when does it work better than traditional outreach methods? what is the best way to reach out to our neighbors? We’ll learn all about this at the January meeting!
